How to make Cannabis Oil

How to make Cannabis Oil South Africa

IMPORTANT: Making cannabis oil can be dangerous if the proper precautions are not taken. Please always wear the proper safety equipment like safety glasses, safety masks and gloves to minimize your exposure to the solvent.  ALWAYS use extreme caution when making cannabis oil. AVOID smoking, sparks, stove-tops and red hot heating elements. Set up a fan to blow fumes away from the pot, and set up in a well-ventilated area for whole process. We even advise doing it outside if possible.

Cannabis oil can cost you a pretty penny from a medical cannabis dispensary. Even then, you may not have access to exactly what you want. So, why not just make it yourself? Turns out, making your own medicine is easier than you might think. Here’s how to make the best medical cannabis oil.

Cannabis oil is a highly concentrated cannabis extract. This extract is the famed cannabis oil which many patients have found successful in treating cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and many other difficult to treat medical conditions.

Your aim should be to produce the highest quality Cannabis oil/CBD oil and Cannabinoid extracts, using state of the art lab and GMP procedure to create a true medicine that will help you. Of course this is not a possibility for everyone. And unfortunately many turn to the black market and use substandard and even potentially dangerous products sold by snake-oil salesmen and self-appointed medical cannabis dispensaries.

Your cannabis oil is that it is only as good as the products used to create it. Each individual person and every medical condition best responds to different types of cannabis. For example, strains high in both THC and CBD are thought to work well in cancer treatment. Seizure disorders and some other neurological disorders, however, respond better to high CBD, low THC strains. For more information on Cannabis strains please CLICK HERE.

Opting for organic cannabis is highly recommended. Those with compromised immune systems or autoimmune diseases may have difficult reactions to any residual pesticide, fertilizer, or insecticide that may still be present in your herb. Organic cannabis also tends to be higher in terpenes.

Terpenes are the flavour and aroma molecules found in plants. Like cannabinoids, terpenes also have a variety of health benefits. Ideally, starting with high-quality cannabis material increases the amount of possible cannabinoids and terpenes in your oil.

The goal is to make a product that is extremely rich and abundant with healing compounds. Since we do not yet know what ratios or terpenes are best for various medical conditions, the easiest thing to do is try to make a product that contains a wide diversity of phytochemicals.

In this video we explain to you how to make this medical Cannabis oil/CBD oil extracts at home.

No doubt many people in South Africa have heard of Rick Simpson oil or RSO. Unfortunately, Rick spread some poor information and today many South African Cannabis oil suppliers are selling inferior Cannabis oil products which were made using denatured isopropyl alcohol, benzene, acetone, hexane and even petrol.  Many of these online Medical cannabis dispensaries will claim that all the solvent is boiled off in the production process, but this isn’t always the case and if a person’s immune system is already weak or compromised this residual solvent may make them more sick. In addition, even if all the solvent is removed, it is not likely that the carcinogens which were added to the solvent to denature it were removed.

We strongly suggest that before you buy Cannabis oil/CBD oil in South Africa that you first ask your Cannabis oil supplier how was the Cannabis oil produced. If they cannot tell you, or if they used any of the solvents mentioned above then you shouldn’t buy it and you definitely shouldn’t consume it.

The method below is a more refined and safe procedure than the one explained by Rick Simpson who was the first person to make Cannabis oil or RSO Oil popular in the mainstream media. If you are wanting to buy pure grain alcohol or food grade ethanol in South Africa please contact us.

What you will need in order to make your own Cannabis oil are the following: Cannabis or hemp plant material (dried and shredded), glass bowls, plastic spoon, alcohol (over 60% pure), Sieve, coffee machine, several Coffee filters (depending on how much material you have to process), water distiller or rice cooker or pan and hot plate
paperclip, cigarette lighter.

Make your own Cannabis oil at home, EASILY by following few easy steps.

The first step consists of putting the cannabis plant material into a bowl and covering it with cold alcohol. Next, you will need to stir for 3-5 minutes with the plastic spoon and then sieve the mixture into another bowl. Then, filter the mixture through a coffee filter and distil the liquid until 80% of the alcohol volume has gone. If you use a rice cooker or hot plate to evaporate the alcohol, it is better to do this outside. Don’t forget however that the fumes are very flammable and could explode. Our advise is to use a rice cooker, stainless steel pot and an induction or the double boil method. Afterward, pour the remaining liquid into a small bowl and make sure you heat on the coffee machine hot plate for 24 hours in order to remove the remaining alcohol. The final step is to take a paperclip, dip it in the oil and try lighting it with a flame. If a spark occurs there is still alcohol left so you should place it back on the coffee machine for a few more hours.

If you would like to store the oil, draw it up into a medical syringe and keep it in your fridge.

If you find the extract is too thick to draw up into a syringe then consider adding some coconut oil or olive oil, a small amount should do, as this will make it more viscous.

Cannabis oil has a multitude of uses. You can add it to recipes or dose orally. You can put it in capsules for easier ingestion, or even suppositories for certain medical conditions. The power to make your own rubs, salves and topicals now rests in your hands.

If you do not or cannot make your own Cannabis oil in South Africa then know that a legal option now exists.

  1. I have Eppolpse and was using 100% pure RAW CBD oil. Reasently I haven’t been able to get the same thing. Retailers selling it will not sell 100% CBD oil. What is being sold IS NOT strong enough to help.
Is there any where you know I can get this 100% pure RAW CBD Oil?
    Without breaking my bank?

  2. Please help me with this: Our advise is to use a rice cooker, stainless steel pot and an induction or the double boil method. Afterward, pour the remaining liquid into a small bowl and make sure you heat on the coffee machine hot plate for 24 hours in order to remove the remaining alcohol.
My Question: What do it do with the mixture while it’s on the coffee machine hotplate – do I stir it at any stage? what must it look like in order to know that it’s ready to decant?

  3. At age 24 with a 1 year old son, my daughter in law was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma. They told her that they may be able to prolong her life a bit with Chemo etc. Luckily she had a good medical aid with extra R100,000 cancer cover which was totally depleated. She endured 4 years of Chemo, radiation and surgery. She endured courses of injections that they told her no-one else had ever completed, they built a port into her chest to pump their poison into her, they carved out lymph nodes all over her body. Every time that she was treated by the oncologists more lumps appeared. They also told her that there was a new treatment available which was a course of pills that they had some success with and that might help her, but this treatment would cost a hundred and six thousand rand per month. During one of the visits, she was being fitted with a moulded shield that had a hole in it so that they could radiate the lumps on the side of her chest without burning the surrounding area. While the nurse was fitting the contraption onto her, she mentioned that if the doctor came in at a certain angle with the radiation, it shouldn’t effect her lung too much. This scared the hell out of her and she walked out. I had by then started making Cannabis oil and gave it to her. She took the oil for approximately 6 months and then went back for a Pet scan at the end of March 2017. The oncologist was flabbergasted and told her that he doesn’t know what she has been doing but she should keep on doing it because he could no longer find any Cancer in her. She has been fine ever since and has had no more lumps anywhere. In January 2018 she had another scan and she is still clear. She and my son are now trying for another baby and their lives are back to being happy and normal. I also made a mixture of Cannabis oil and coco-nut oil which has brought great relief to my wifes arthritis and my neck and back pain.

    1. Thank you for that very powerful testimonial Brain. Really happy for you and your family. #CannabisWorks
