Cannabis South Africa
Cannabis South Africa is finally going somewhere. Up!
South Africans have been waiting patiently since last years court case to know if they can grow and use Cannabis in the privacy of their own homes.
Well the waiting is finally over and this coming Tuesday, 18th September 2018 South Africans will know if they can legally grow and use dagga in their own homes.
This latest news on Cannabis South Africa is quickly circulating the web and social media and not only is it being supported, but the fact remains, this judgement will have a huge impact on the marijuana industry in South Africa.
To date no commercial licences have been issued for the cultivation of Cannabis in South Africa, but a few research licences have been granted to date.
If you are interested in applying for a legal permit or licence to grow Cannabis/Marijuana/Dagga in South Africa you can download the Cannabis licence forms here.

If the judgement is found in favour of the plaintiff, it raises all sorts of interesting questions like how many Cannabis plants can someone grow at home? How much plant material is a person allowed to have on their property? Are they allowed to travel with Cannabis, and if so, what amount are they allowed to be in possession of? Will South Africans be able to make concentrates like Cannabis oil and Cannabis tinctures from their Cannabis plants? Will South Africans be allowed to import Cannabis seeds from overseas to cultivate dagga at home? What is the legal age for someone who wants to grow Cannabis at home? Will a Cannabis body or department be established to oversee home grows across the country and that they comply with the judgement? Will the judgement excuse those who have pending cases for dagga possession or cultivation and what about those busy servicing prison sentences for the same?
There are so many more questions I have, but I guess we will have to wait until Tuesday to find out if South Africans will be “allowed” to grow and use Cannabis at home.
